1981 Celica GT "LC" Edition Question

Hey does ANY have any info on what the
"LC" means on a 1981 Celica GT, with a "LC Celica" stripe going down the side of the car? (I just purchased one)

if you do, what did it include as far as options, was it a LC Engineering conversion, adding headers, and some performance add ons? or was it just a big A$S sticker stuck on the side to sell it quicker before the 82 models came out?

if anyone has a sales circular or ad or article, I would love a PDF copy or scan of it, just let me know!
thanks
Guss

Honestly, I have never heard of anything like this, I know LC engineering has been around for a while, but dont think they were even around at that time, possibly aftermarket years later? I would contact LC engineering themselves, they may be able to give you a few hints

Also, if you private message me your VIN, I work for a Toyota Dealer and have access to information, such as original sale info(window sticker), however, I'm not sure how far it dates back as I've never tried it with something this old

"LC" is new to me too and I thought I knew all the variants.

Can you show us photos of the stripes?
It's possible that it was put on by a dealer to advertise his dealership.
Or possibly a previous owner put it on with his own initials.

Toyota's microfiche don't say anything about an LC model.
If you tell me the details on the build plate in the engine bay then I can decode it for you but it will probably just tell us it's a 1981 American spec Celica GT.
or you can look it up yourself on my website:

Possibly a dealer-specific graphics package, you never know.

Hey, thanks for the offers to help guys,
the actual car I got (it arrives this Saturday)
and its info can be seen here

http://johnfikeinc.com/toyota-sunchaser.html

its not IMPORTANT that I know the info, but it would be nice if anyone knows anything, I've seen some hatchbacks with the same stripe, so its not just on the sunchasers or coupes.

Enjoy the pics!

thanks again

Damn, my next guess was Liftback Convertible.
But if non-convertibles have it too then that's a no-go.

This thread has a lot of info about Sunchasers and other 2nd gen Celica convertibles.
It also has links to various convertible brochures that i have collected (including your Sunchaser).

yeah I am on there too, with my 2 seater Grandeuer convertible, I like these rare ones! Just a regular one is rare enough now days, but to find a convertible or sunchaser just adds to the "coolness"

So that means you have both a Griffith Sunchaser convertible and a Grandeur SLR convertible?
I've gone green with envy...
