Having some HID issues

I know there may have been other posts on this but I haven't really seen any on celica's and the ones for other cars don't make me feel reassured. Basically I am having a problem with my installed HIDs.

I put in a set of HIDs into my low beams, when I first installed them with the car off they both flickered for a bit but then eventually lit.

I then turned on my car all the way and the passenger side light flickered and turns on but the drivers side flashes on for a moment and then turns off. I disabled the DRLs, so that isn't the problem.

I have been told maybe I need a relay harness but is this a likely thing. I don't want to spend more money on something i don't need. Now this is a 2000 Celica so they wiring is getting old and battery could be a bit old, bought it recently.

I am just wondering if anyone has input, thanks for reading this long post guys!

On my celica, my ddm tuning hids do this too. What I do is turn them on, turn my car on and get adjusted etc. By then the hids should be warmed up. If one or both of them flickered, turn the lights off then back on again. After this, they should turn on.

Oh, and don't put the parking brake down until you have done this because once you put it down, you have to start the car again to get the lights to turn off.

yeah a relay kit will solve the problem!

you dont want to keep turning on and off and having them flicker because it makes the bulb and ballast break faster
