92GTS auto to manual?

Ok here is my situation...I have an AUTOMATIC...yes its an auto
92 Celica GTS.

Now the engine and maybe tranny is done for and needs to be replaced...now putting an all-trac engine in an automatic just doesnt make sense to me right? SOOOO is it possible/worth it to change an auto into a manual? or have I gone mental...

If so is it a do-it-yourself type job?

I'll say it probably cheaper to buy an AllTrac if you can find one. That way you get the full package.

I own 89 GTS 3sge with auto ect tranny
In power mode its fast
I raced a black car not sure what it was unfortunately( night time)
sure it was 4 cyl with a stick maybe 240 something small
with real wheel drive, tires in the back screeched.
Had me went threw first and second gears i saw the car jerk
in front of me about 2 car lengths
Then when my TVIS kicked in I took off and it was over.

only mods where jdm headers with 2 1/2 cat back exhaust
and a cone filter
gts fast car for n/a, bet he thought i had a turbo or nos even I surprised myself the way the car pulled that night .
but I had a healthy grin when it was over..

Then a 3000 gt came by and didnt get a chance to try it but I
think would crush me.. when ever I get beat I want to turbo it with a stroker kit but thats expensive..
