91 GT 2.2 distributor vacuum line...

There's a port on my distributor for a vacuum line. there is nothing attached to it. Should there be?

I think I've worked on a lot of 5S-FE engines in the past, of the vintage of a 90-91 era. Never saw anything related to a vacuum port on the distributor. Can you take a picture of this? Wondering if this distributor is a factory unit, or some kind of generic replacement from an auto parts store?

Clarification...

the port is on the cap, not the distributor itself. it's between the two bottom plugs. I am by no means the original owner, so have no idea what isn't original in there. I'll post a pic tomorrow, when it's lighter out.

That's just a vent so far as I'm aware- my '91 Camry and my '88 also have that little port. There should be a plastic cap snapped onto it.

I think you are right, just a vent port with a plastic cap attached to prevent dust getting into the cap.
