I know that we all drive CELICA's here but you have to think about it: CELICA GT AND GTS: are Both SLOW CARS! even the 6 spd...

I always hear: ppl saying PRELUDES are way faster: and thats true : even though celicas lighter : PRELUDE's are still way FASTER...

Celicas Interior looks better then the lude...but LOok at the Exterior: the prelude is way better!

can someone explain to me how come preludes are fater then Celicas?

when i mean prelude i mean the 5th gen...

As suppose Civic/Prelude is a race car?

FYI this is off topic - when did I mention Camry in the first place?

don't judge cars by listening to people or watching videos, sure they might be convincing but the best way is to find out yourself, have some faith in your car

and the "looks part", thats totally debatable....IMO toyota did a great job on the new celicas, gives the sport car division a fresh new image

From what I've seen.. the celica shows its true power when the second cam is engaged. Since the factory default is @ 6000RPM, you'd probably need to push near-redline to see the full power.

People have also taken to purchasing the ECU upgrade which mods the valve lift to a lower engine speed. So I wouldn't lose hope on the celi.

Just my opinion though - I could be wrong

Camry are not race cars but can be dam fast if you know what your doing(look at my Camry for example 14.11 1/4 mile).I dont know what your talking about the Prelude is in no way faster then a Celica GTS they are both well matched cars and it all comes down to the driver and if you suck at shifting you get beat.I was building a project Prelude with my friend and i can tell you stock VS stock it was around the same as the celica off the line but at high speeds the celica wins.

5sfe powered turd ...

TRD Celica-00,

The GT-S should be quicker than a '01 Lude but it is still no match for a Type-R. You must drive the GT-S to the max to extract the short lived big cam. If you don't, you'll fall out of vvtL-i and then you'll be slow.

I'd much rather have a GT-S over a Lude anyday. Superior handling, altho it lacks torque and hp for everyday driving. It's lighter, more agile and possess more cheeky styling. Throw in the nice cockpit of the Celi and you have a car asking to be modified and driven hard.

 Preludes don't look anywhere near as sweet as the new Celicas' Preludes must be wicked, I mean isn't that why Honda stoped production??

I got an HKS exhaust, hmmm... let me think what else, yeah I'm getting the stock sides painted, I am looking for a crashed 1zz rolla or a GT to send the cams to crover and they will make a one off for me, I talked to Bryan last night at like 4:30 am, once those get done, some high comp pistons from monkeywrench racing and all the other goodies, oh yeah I also ordered a header from some guy in alberta cause hes going turbo and all the other headers are on back order, so thats pretty much it.
As far as this guy, he obviously doesnt know how to drive for sh*t, I've beaten a few GT-S' in my day but also got my ass handed to me on a silver platter.
So buddy boy rev up to 4.5k slip off the clutch, once you start moving drop it and floor it, but knowing your skill your clutch will probably crack and your synchros will blow.
