1989 Celica All track question

Hey, first post whats up. I currently drive a nissan NX2000 (sr20de) but was talking to one of my celica buddies and he says his cousin has a 1989 Alltrack for sale for crazy cheap.. Now im not into flash body kits or anything like that but i am a fan of the 94+ (i belive) front end with the circular headlights... I did a "Front conversion" and "conversion search" and mostly what i came up with was somthing about a Camery with S15 headlights.. blah blah- but the question is, how much would be involved in switching the front bumper from the '89 to the '94+ front bumper? Be nice im not all to familiar with the toyota side of things (my grandparents have a 96 Avalon w00t w00t!) Thanks

-Joe

hey, wassup, and welcome to TN. I personally dont think it has been done, but I could be wrong. Im sure with a lot of cutting, fitting and bondo, it could be done, but that could get quite expensive. You have to change the bumper, hood, and fenders. You also have to consider, that the bumper, most likely will not mount straight up to the frame. Not to sound discouraging, but I dont think its gonna work. If he does however manage to get it done, please post some pics, cause Id love to see how it turns out.

I wouldn't bother. The ST165 is one of teh cleanest designs around. If you put the 6th gen front-end on it, it'll look like sh*t.
The shapes don't compliment each other and the cost would probably get out of hand.

There is a 6th Gen GT4/Alltrac (+94), it was sold in Europe and Asia.
Problem is the car dimensions are different the ST165 is a smaller and boxier design with a LOT of straight lines while the ST205 is much bigger with a more rounded lined design,.

I would be a bodyshop's nightmare to make on thing fit on the other

One had an 88AllTrac and though the would 'improve' the looks by adding Honda headlights and a bunch of other tacky crap.
He completely ruined a clean AllTrac and spent a ton of cash to make it look like shit. I'd add the link but www.alltrac.net is down right now.

Moral: Don't fuck with it!
