92 celica Trunk Lock Cylinder Questions

Someone tried to break into my trunk lock and broke off the stainless steel cover and the metal end of the assembly right behind it.

I went to a salvage yard and bought the whole assembly today. Does anyone know if the if the end of the cylinder can be swapped out, just behind the faceplate. If you've done it hopefully you'll know what I am talking about.

So second question, I have this other assembly and there is a whole on the cylinder. It looks to me like somehow this may reset the lock so I could rekey it to my own key myself, instead of having to take it to a locksmith.

It's a 92 celica ST

Thanks

your local locksmith should be able to re-key it to your key for about $20.
