Hey, just wondering what everyone thinks about the latest Celica. The body looks great, but mechanically (apart from a bit extra horses) isn't it just a glorified Corolla??

uuuum... that would be 3 out of 4 of the 5th generation and some of the 6th gens too.. The GT, GT-S and ST models of the 5th gen celica were all "equiped" with 5sfe engines and so did some of the 6th gens, the specifics of which though iam not sure but some did come out with the later generation 3sge.
Its in the body style, interior, options.
You don't get the TRD Panasoinc Corolla. You don't get rear disc in the Corolla, until the XRS. The 5 gen Celica's control are right at driver's finger tip. 5 gen got 10 speaker option.
good point.. actually got a question, how much am i looking at paying for a 6th gen celica in reasonably good condition? my rolla's getting lonely in my drive way and need another toyota for company lol
Check AutoTrader. Search for 1994-1999 Celica for 6th gen.
5 gen is 1990-1993. Around $8000 for 6th gen GTS but you can get a 5 gen AllTrac for around same price. Tough decision.
definetly tough, thanks man. i'll have to check around, celica's are new to me, so i don't know much.... always liked them tho. i'll have to check insurance prices, that'll most likely be the deciding factor
I paid about the same but its full coverage for the Rolla and minium on the Celica. No point for full coverage on a 14 yr car. The AllTrac of course will be more.
my thoughts exactly.
paying close to 270/month liability only on the rolla right now.. kinda steep, might have to a wait awhile for that to drop unfortunately
