Could still be some kind of anti-theft device. A toggle switch leading to a black box, leading to the starter. Try flipping the switch in the other postion and crank the motor. If that doesn't work, It could be defective and serves no purpose.

no, the black box has tha toggle switch built in it. and all it does is lead to the starter. i assumed it was a starter or ignition reset button or something so i switched it and now the motor wont start, i got power but the motor wont turn over like the starter isnt getting any signal to start. i played with the switch and try turning it on and still nothing

its a black box with 2 exits and i dont know if its 2 wires or more, but they exit the box and then get bundled up (so it looks like one wire running) and goes to the driver side of starter and the black box has a toggle switch

check to see how many wires are comming from it or get a test light and see if voltage comes from one of the wires when the key is turned

aight first off a major apology to those who said alarm, you were right. after looking at the wiring a little closer i found out that there was more wires then i thought, and that it was an alarm. i have taken out the alarm and now everything is alright. thx.

black box

The little black box is like a black box in an airplane.
This box records data for the airbag system.
It records speeds and times. This device will record a time and a speed every time you apply the brakes.
These can be used against you or for you in the event of an accident.
