2000 Celica GT Auto 1/4 mile times??????/

My mother got a 2000 Celica brand new when they first came out. She got the GT with the automatic trans I told her to get the GTS with the 6 speed but she said no.

I took it to the track and it ran a 17.55@80 MPH

This is bad I think cuz my brother 99 cavalier 2d ran a 17.44@80 mph He had the 115hp 2.2l OHV and a 3 speed auto. The cav weighs about 200 LBS more than the celica

Does anone else think the Automatic equiped Celicas are slow?

thanks, jason

Why are the GT Autos so slow? What should a 5 speed GT run?

^ Because you have a 1.8L engine... an automatic transmission... and no thought towards performance... hence... the GTS Model was produced. Ya know... 140hp is practically Civic range... not much power. This is why the MRS is such a POS... cause it got stuck with the 1zz and shitty plasic ass styling.
