1993 Celica with a fluctuating idle...What's Wrong?

My 1993 Toyota celica has started to idle really poorly. when it idles good the RPM's stay around 1000, but every once in a while it will start to fluctuate and it will drop down to aroun 150rpm's, almost die, and then it will bounce back up to around 1200. It will then repeat this. Does anyone know what causes this and how can I fix it?

Thanks for your help

ICV (Idle Control Valve), open up intake and clean throttle body especially the holes at the bottom of it. Reset ECU after you finish and set timing and idle again. If that fail, you mau need a new ICV.

It uses a MAP dude.

There was a post in the hardcore/tech section a while ago about properly cleaning your IAC valve, do a search for it.

Do you have an intake?

MAF need cleaning, MAP don't, got a inline filter already and no air is passing thtough the sensor. Work totally differently and placed at different end of the intake manifold.
They're "equivelent" but kinda miss leading

has the original problem been fixed? just a thought, have you changed the air filter? Are you still running a filter that has to been changed out every 6 months or have you switched to a reusable?
