86 celica no heat

i got no heat...... checked the water level, checked the thermostat, i have water curculating through the heater core.

if its cold out side the heater works long enough to warm up the car then start blowing cold air as soon as the temp guage reaches 1/2 way and the rear window defroster has to bo on ....

how do the heater controls work on this 86 gt? it just has buttons ..... no levers for cables or vacuum ...... anybody got any ideas?

stuck it in a pan of hot water and watched it open at 190 degrees
replaced it for good measure.

the only thing that has not been trouble shot is the heater controls..... and thats because i don't understand how it works with out cables

Heater control issues

Try the above link, it might help with your problem. The heater controls are sometimes to blame.
