Its a common problem with mis-installed CAIs on 7th Gen Celicas.
You three air control solenoids (vacuum switching valves), if you leave any of these out when installing the CAI you will get odd hot-start problems as well as setting your CHECK ENGINE light.

I have a complete .doc I snatched from some page that goes through the complete install correctly. PM your email and I'll send it to you.

I didnt install it but it is installed correctly ive checked everything. there was a hose that was dangleing from the cai and it was hanging at the bottom of the fender. the hose had vacume so i plugged it up so that it wouldnt suck in any dirt. so im thinking some of the dirt knocked the maf around and i got a bad maf but ill find out the dealership is getting me an air box (at their expense ) afterwards if the light goes off then ill know it was the intake but if it dont ill know it was the maf sensor.

If it was installed correctly, then why was there a hose dangling?
