i noticed that my car has been doing this in the past few days...everytime i run it it's goes very smooth until i reach 3000rpm..it will keep on going as long as i dont put too much gas...but as soon as i step on it..it feels like it's struggling, choking..i dunno...my buddy wit a gt4 felt the same thing with his car...so we're trying to figure it out...does anyone else have this type of problem??

I was gonna suggest going over the ignition, everything basically. I rode in an MR2 Turbo that had similar problems, it just wanted to choke when you got on it, it ended up being a crappy rotor/cap/wires. Aside from that, possibly a small boost leak?

on a 3sgte... 1st thing id check/overhaul is ignition (plugs, WIRES, cap, rotor). i had the same issue with hesitation under boost and a simple ignition maintenance solved it. plug wires in particular.
My stock coil looks great on the top but when I took it out, it was rusted to piece on the back. An MSD coil fixed that. Definite invest in MSD coil and box. Make sure you got rigt plug also. Use good old big copper tip plug. Small tip plug will cause pre-ignition.
alright..here's what i noticed...i only had less than a quarter left on the tank when it happened...when i filled it up....it was back to normal...maybe it's got something to do wit my fuel pump...and also it idle's a bit higher than usual when my gas is almost empty...

My 83 22re did/does the same thing. I narrowed it down to the little box on top of the coil. It's $166 at a parts store. I bought another car instead for $100 bux and used that one. Now I have a whole parts car.
i think it could be the thermostat....i checked my rad hose today and noticed that it wasn't hard at all....also noticed that my temp is quite high right now....so im guessing that the thermostat is bad causing my car to overheat all the time...and the ecu probably wouldn't let me go pass 3,000rpm for safety....i dunno..im changing the thermostat today and i'll see what happens..im also changing the fuel filter....since it could also be clogged up....but i doubt that it could be..but im just changing it since it hasn't been changed at all....so that's that...and i just have to wait what happens after changing the thermostat....

Get a fuel pressure gage on it and tape it to the car where you can see it when driving, watch for a big dive during the bog, also I had a celica come in with a part of a plant crammed up into the air filter box snorkel that made it pretty boggy too
I had an all-trac, it did the exact same thing, bogged and wanted to stall Did it alot worse when cold. I have heard many opinions on this. In fact there was a serivce bulletin on this problem quite some time ago, (regarding the cold driving problems) I would consult Toyota on that. (wish I would have known about the service bulletin when I actually had the car LOL) I have also heard it may be something about boost protection, keeping it from boosting alot until it gets warm, in my all-trac if I was easy on it it had no adverse effects. The boost leak also sounds very possible, In may all-trac I had to replace the little flange/hose deal that sat between the intercooler and intake manifold. Make sure to check all of your hoses for deterioration. Good luck!
