Maybe I should buy it in Canada?

Hey, I've heard a rumor that it's cheaper to purchase a car in Canada than it is in the United States. Is that true, does anybody know? If so, are there things different with the cars, or would the car be exactly the same as if I would have purchased it in the US?

have u factored in the current exchange rate.....shipping....duties that you would have to pay to register a car that u bought from canada.....i'd have to say that you'll prolly find a better deal buying a car from the states than in canada.....canada has different saftey regulations so some cars may be slightly different here from their US counterparts.......

As an individual, you can't purchase a car in Canada and bring it to the US. You can't register a Canadian vehicle in the US unless it has been brought into the country by a licensed vehicle importer. The importer in turn has to make sure the vehicle meets the NHTSA standards, as well as convert the odometer/speedometer cluster to U.S instead of metric to meet our vehicle code. After all is said and done, the cheaper vehicle from Canada will actually cost you MORE than something from here.

HTH,

Shane
