Question Price Check!!

Hey you'll,

I've found this shop up north that will do a complete suspension swap. I am purchasing new Tokico's springs and shocks/cartridge and they're installing for about 500-600$ (price includes suspensions and labor). Is this a good deal? The mechanic said he'll charge me 25$ for labor on each, and about 75$(non-adjustable springs) or 100$(adjustable springs). Part of the reason I am asking is because I am not much of a mechanic myself, and besides, I think it would save me a lot of trouble and time. Please feel free to leave some input, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for reading.

If you were in the area I'd do all the work for you for free. I do all kinds of car work for people and never do I charge. I just like doing it...

If its intake and exhaust valve, not a DIY. You need a machine to do that. You can turn the valves on a lathe but the valve seat need a special machine. Any mistake, wrong angle, not 100% round, different depth, will cause leakage, bent valve or even engine damage.
All head work should be done by professional shop. Including port & polish.

I wasn't going to try doing a valve job, just asking if he could. Plus, porting can be a diy project if you take your time, and are willing to do practice jobs first to learn technique. Any joe schmoe can do a polish job. In fact, I'm taking up jobs to polish some friends valve covers for their crx and daytona! Maybe I'll take up doing exhaust manifolds too.

Oh, Duluth huh? I was just kind of wondering. My girl can get parts for a good price. As for installing, I got people who can do it, but I'm not sure how much they'll charge. You're up in Duluth though, I'm in Minneapolis. You live in Duluth or just going to school there?
