94 GTS Oil light at idle

I come of the highway tonight and while the car is idling at the lights, I hear knock from the engine like the valves, and the oil light comes on. I accelerate from the lights, the noise goes away and the light goes off. Happened again when I idle. What's causing this? I checked my oil, and its at full level. Oil pump? can anyone help?

the knock is a loose bearing on the crank, probably a rod bearing, how many miles are on what engine and what weight oil in what climate?

put in some 40w oil, turn the idle up and sell it

my 89 corolla oil light would come on sometimes in gear at idle buy it never made any noise

thanks for the response. The car has about 120 miles on it so far and I have 10w30 in there right now. I live in Toronto but hasn't been that cold here yet. So I need to repair the bearing? How much is that going to cost me? lots of labor?

10w30 is ok. has the oil light stayed off since then?

if it was my car i would change the oil, cross my fingers and keep in driving if its not making any noise

What's the idle rpm when light come on? Probably idle too low. 650 is min at gear.
