Question vvti engine question???

dose anyone know if a vvti 1999 celica engine will fit in a 2000 model? and will the ecu recognise it? thanks.

I have no clue what engines you guys got????

Our 99's used 5sfe 2.2 i4

Our 00's used two engines
1.8 1zzfe for the Gt and 1.8 2zzfe for the Gts.

Assuming global model years are different, are you asking if you can use a 6th gen engine on a 7th gen celica...if money is no questions..surely you can, but 1zz and 2zz engines arn't too expensive. and you guys get more 2zz options on your rolla's there.
