5SFtE problem

hi guys.. any where i can get specific details on the injectors.

i read that the best is to use the light green top ones from the supra 7mgte, cause they are a perfect fit....

any one knows the dimensions or information i would need if i was to get other than the supra injectors..

TIA

How about 3S-GTE injector?
Don't think you're getting more then 225HP.

I believe people use the 7M injector to hit 300+HP.

I set up a turbo on my friends 5SFE, he was running 7 PSI on the stock injectors....not smart. Dangerously lean.

If I were you I would just get the supra injectors. They are tried and true in the 5SFE. if your gonna get 300 HP out of a 5SFTE you will also need a full stand alone fuel management system.

Good luck, and keep us updated on this, I like the people that turbo 5SFE's instead of 3S swapping.

Our 5S-FE can use the same 7MGE 315cc injectors from a 88+ SUPRA or CRESSIDA injectors. These injectors are direct bolt on. The CT-26 turbo with about 10psi would give us about 200hp. Stock rod holds about 200hp but that a diffrent subjects. Now to find how much hp injectors are good for you take the cc and divide that by 5 then multiply that number my the number of cylinder. So this is how it goes. 315 / 5 = 53 x 4 = 252hp. With a 2 bar map sensor you would have enough fuel. Your stock map sensor is not producing enough fuel because it just don't know what to do with the addtional air it getting. With colder plugs and retarding your timeing alil more would make it alot more boost friendly.

The picture looks yellowish. What your looking for is a light green. The yellow injector require additonal hardware to convert them.

^ woah.... cool.. thanx for the info... but those supra light green injectors are a pain to find...

thanx for the info.

but correct me if i am wrong... my baby is @ 130 or so hp at stock....

so if i do a 9psi boost, which roughly gives about 90hp increase, so my total shd be ard the 210-225 range right?

how did you figure 9 PSI would give you a 90 HP increase?? I know when my friends 5SFTE ran 7 PSI he gained nowhere near 70 HP. he gained maybe, MAYBE, 35 - 40 HP. I would guess at 9 PSI, on a brand new rebuilt 5SFE you might have 160 - 170 HP. Even that is being generous.

Like I said this is taken from my experience with a 5SFTE, it was definetely a fun car while it lasted.

As far as finding the injectors, I would keep an eye on ebay and www.supraforums.com. Every now and then I will see a set for sale on those sites. Be ready to pay for them though because like you said, they arent the easiest thing in the world to find.

The amount of power you gain from a turbo changes depending on alot of factors. There is no constant amount of horsepower you get for each PSI you boost. 9 PSI on a CT26 might give you 45 HP, but on a different turbo could give you alot more or alot less.

My friend walked around telling everyone he had 240 HP after installing his turbo kit, and got laughed at by everyone. He would have dyno'd at maybe 130 HP, he was losing a bunch of power becuase he has an automatic transmission. To show you how much of a difference it made, he was dead even with an 02 sentra SE-R SpecV, and those have 185 Crank HP. He got whooped by a lightly modified MKIII supra. And I mean bus lengths upon bus lengths.

You will probably be a bit faster then he was since it looks like you have an intercooler, which he didnt, and a CT26. He had a T3 from an old mercedes turbo.

Oh well, just dont be stupid about it and go telling people you have way bigger power then you really do, Just tell them its fast until you dyno it. Your going the right way asking about it on this forum though. If I were you I would go to www.celica.net and post there too, lots of 5SFTE's on there that might be able to hook you up with some injectors.

Please if keep your goals on 6 to 7psi ... especially if its a stock motor with some miles. I suggest running nothing higher than 300cc injectors with a high flow pump and a accufab rising rate regulator...
And dont be boost happy...

5s isn't very boost friendly. To run a safe reliable turbo setup cost way to much money for me. I finally came to the conclusion to swap for a v6 motor or buy a better platform like a 240. I'm loving my S13
