'91 GT-S new owner a few questions

I just bought a '91 Celica GT-S and it did not have a owners manual. Dealer says $20, any cheaper manuals around?
To start the car I need to give it gas. I did not think this was nesasary, what sensor needs to be replaced? Or is it something else?
Octane recommeded by manual?
Oil choice?
Thats all I can think of so far. I got a dealer service manual coming but thats a few days away.

Try ebay for the manual.

You shouldn't have to give it gas, it could be a lot of things causing it, ignition parts, clogged fuel filter, misadjusted TPS, etc. I'd start by pulling the plugs and seeing what they look like.

87 Octane is fine.

5W30 conventional oil is whats recommended, I use 10W30 in the summer and 5W30 in the winter, semi-synthetic.

Thanks for the info on the oil and gas.

I'll probably wait till the factory service manual comes before doing too much since it runs fine once started.

This is such a nice car that I bought for my son I would like to keep it myself but whats done is done.

I have a '91 ST myself. I would've gone for a GT-S but I could only find them in hatchback and I prefer the coupe styling.

I run Mobil One 10w-30 high mileage synthetic blend and like he said, 87 is the best for your car.
