Hard Starting

I had the oil changed, put in a new battery, air filter, and had the injectors cleaned by Jiffy lube.
I was hoping the injector purge might help with the starting problem.
It does start but I have to depress the pedal and crank it to get it to fire. It runs great and passed smog so I figure the fuel filter is ruled out. Still waiting on the factory service manual but could use some thoughts on what to look for.

try cycling the key 3 or 4 times before cranking. it if fires right up then its probably a clogged fuel filter or weak fuel pump

Ok I just tryed what you suggested and it did fire right up. I'll check into the two things you have mentioned starting with the cheapest first.

Unfortunately, an "Injector Purge at Jiffy Lube" doesn't check for leaky injectors that could be your problem. Sometimes, that method just forces crud into the business end of the injector.
Best if luck,

what do you mean, cycling the key, on?off, but not turn the engine? how does that tell whether it's the pump or filter. that;s interesting.

i mean just turn it to on but not crank. most efi cars when the key is turned to the on position it turns the pump on for a few seconds so if you do that a few times it will build fuel pressure without cranking the engine.

Weird, It now starts when cold without depressing the pedal but once warmed up it needs a quick pedal pump.
