5th Gen Vs New RSX

I was going south to drop off a rim to a customer this morning, and had a new blue RSX w/exhaust want to play. I was merging from an interchange and went to move over to the left when he had sped up to get in my blind-spot (luckily I have good lane change checks). I was just cruising around 70-80, and he was staying next to me, so when we hit a gap in traffic, I sped up to around 90, and he stayed right behind me. We caught back up with traffic, and had to slow to 60-70, and I waited for another gap in traffic to drop into 3d, gave a tap of the gas to let him know, and took off, he tried to keep up, but when I had 4-5 cars on him by 80 he let off, and I took advantage of the gap to hit 100 and then slow down to a reasonable 70 again. Well, he did the typical fly-by, so I fell in behind him. We again waited for a gap in traffic, and when he started to take off, I dropped down to 3d again (70 again) and was passing him when I shifted to 4th, and just ran away from him AGAIN. He took the next exit, and I slowed to 70 and continued to the drop.

PS...it was a NEW RSX, cause it didn't have the dimples in the bumpers from the lights.

I think we are not supposed to talk about street racing. But, yeah RSXs are very slow. I slaughtered an RSX Coupe with two macho guys so badly that it was not even funny it with my 05 Corolla XRS

he can't beat a Type S... That's laughable. A base RSX... that's a maybe. A modded n/a 5SFE Celica GT is what... at best a 15 second car... A typical base RSX can achieve that with an intake...

First off, it wasn't a Type S, just a base RSX. Second, I am pushing 131whp/136tq, without nitrous, and 156whp/180tq with nitrous. I have raced a 2001 Celica GTS w/ intake, and we were dead even from a stop, and I pulled 2 cars on him from a roll. Yes, with nitrous.

Yes, I do that, too...call it "radar catcher". He wasn't doing that since he was next to me alot of the way, and when we raced, he was behind me the first one, and in front the second.

Don't be offended man... some people just think posting racing stories... let alone 2 in a row... is pretty lame.

How bout you list your motor mods? I know of only a few people who have tried to squeeze power out of their 5SFE (n/a) and their numbers weren't all that for the money involved. I'm just curious...

The guy had an exhaust on it already, plus rims and lowered.....plus warranty should cover the blown motor.

A non-broken in engine doesn't have power.

What about a engine with 180k+ miles on it? I guess that is at MAXIMUM output? So his engine "wasn't broken in" and mine would have been "way beyond it's prime", still sounds fair to me.
