Japan Importing GT-4 - Generation Questions

I am importing a 1989 Celica GT-4 for a customer from Japan but have a question about the different generations. I am looking at two different vehicles, same year but one looks like the old generation and the other looks like the newer gen. I know that they got the 'alltrac' one year earlier in Japan and am just curious if they did 1/2 years on this model.

The alltrac got a body lift in '89, where as us lucky people in canada got it in 90. So the answer is yes they did do a 1/2 yr thing

Both 4th and 5th gen got AllTrac/GT4. Make sure you got the one you want.

Yes he is looking for a 5th gen, but in Japan the 1989 was the 5th gen where here it is the 1990. However in 1989 there was 4th&5th gen's made in Japan and I was just confirming this.
