need to change p/s fluid, how to??

i have an 88 st celica and awhile back i added a valvoline maxlife p/s fluid with stop leak(stupid of me since i did not have leak problem, only needed to add dexron type fluid) so now im getting squealing sound when turning, my question is how do i remove the old fluid from p/s system and do i need to or just add the correct dexron fluid with the old one.

if the fluid is full..it's not suppose to be making a squealing sound....if anything....what your hearing is probably a bad bushing.....does it only happen when you turn or when you go over bumps too????

it's full and i hear the sound when turning, what is the bushing? how do u know this is the cause, i've had both of the rack boots torn for awhile and didnt know bout it until recently when i had it check out, would'nt that have something to do with it? do i need to have the boots replaced, it doesnt seem to affect steering, but only having wierd noise when turning wheel. thanks for your reply.

Dude... if your CV boots are torn you shouldn't be using the car at all, you will cause mayor damage to the CV joints and probably the axels and that would cost you some top dollar to replace.
Its very probable that the noise you are hearing are the bearings that have absolutly no grease since the torn CV boot would have let all the lubricanting grease out, if you keep using the car it wont be long until the CV joint goes boom.

The boots are there to keep dirt, dust, water and other contamination out of the steering rack. Hard to say exactly what your noise is, could it be a loose belt? Most of that stop leak stuff is really thick, if the power steering pump has to work harder to push it through the belt may be slipping a little. Just a guess.

isnt the rack boots easily replaceable, i've seen somewhere that has weldable boots r those any good? btw rack boots aint the same as the cv boots those i had replace awhile back. the rack boots r on the rack & pinion, what is the function for those boots anyway, i've stuck my hands between the boots there doesnt seem to be anything inside except grease.
