Question CELICA Engine Control Busted

I have a Celica 92, 3S-GT.
My problem is that as I was taking the car for a long ride, The engine just went dead, and would not start.
Some guys looked at it changed some gaskets, reset the timing... all went well .. but now a bigger problem came up: The Engine Control seems not to be working well.
The technicians say that the fuel injection module is not working....
I tried looking for a new Engine Control, but the thing is hard to get, maybe coz I'm in Africa.
This is the first issue.... please if anyone knows where I can get another Engine Control, do advise.

Number two: since we cant find the Engine Control here: some mechanics suggested that I hake some modifications:
Get another manifold, and use a caburetor instead... how reliable would this be:
The car is 2,500 km from home: would it make it on a carburetor system.

If anyone knows a way of getting the car moving without difficulties, I need you assistance.

Thanks and Best Regards

Wallyshe

Ebay my friend Ebay.

If you cant get the seller to ship to you in Africa, do you know anyone living in North America that could get it for you and then ship it to you?

there are 2 or 3 ECU's for sale on Ebay right now.

Engine Control or maybe the injector resistor pack went dead? becareful on what people tell you. If the resistor pack went dead then you would not get any fuel injection. Have that checked.

Turn a EFI engine into crab? Check out old Camry and Celica, they also have same engine. You can try to use their ECU. Its hard to believe the ECU is blown. Check fuel pump, injector, wiring and other reason before you change the ECU.
