Just waggle the gearstick a bit before you start her up to make sure she`s not in gear, lots of sideways movement then its in neutral, not much movement then its probably in gear, in all my 14years of driving I have never put the clutch in when starting the car, strange habit to get into???? You wont do that much damage to the starter motor if you start the car in gear, it wont like it, and if you do it everyday then bye bye starter motor, but every now and then it wont matter, your biggest worry is running into the wall/car parked in front of you. Just get used to knowing where your stick is when the cars in neutral.
what i meant was that each time i have to clutch in before the car would start, be it my gear is at netural or not, if i crank without clutching in, nothing will happen.
ie to say, for me to start my car, i need to clutch in and then crank... wun work without clutching in..

well... in the morning, i always start my car, let it warm up a little, while i finish up my breakfast, so it's kinda troublesome to climb into the car, to start it... it i can disable the switch, i can just open the door, stick my hands in and start the car...
^ do u have a soln or an idea or suggestion to remove that switch that u are talking abt.

There is no "switch in the clutch".
There is a normal open plunger switch that part of the peddle arm controlls that is open when the clutch is engaged. Works the same way a break light is activated.
But really...its a safety mesure. Keeps you from running over some kid if you make a mistake and start the car when the tranny is in gear.
I`ve never heard of that before! when did they start putting those into cars???cause I dont have one??? they say you learn something new every day, I must be getting behind the times.
If that is the case, just disconect the switch, but do it in such a way that you can easily reconnect it should you wish to.
well.. if the safety feature is that i have to clutch in before i can start the car, i doubt that a remote starter will actually work,
or at least i have to find that switch or bypass thingy so that i can start the car without haveing to clutch in...
anyone knows how to remove that safety thing?
