92 Celica 1.6 Liter ST Upgrades

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I bought a 92 Celica ST Coupe and I'm looking to add a few things to it. First, I'd like to upgrade the air intake. I don't want to buy one on eBay and I'm having trouble finding an intake that will fit the year and model of my car... any suggestions? And is there any other cheap quick upgrades I can make to add a few extra horses??

Also, I'd like to add a spoiler just for looks. Something cheap... but something that looks stock. My car is white but I don't mind buying something not painted and then having it painted. Any suggestions?

Lastly, the cup holders in my care are broken. They don't close all the way and actually stick out about 2" (won't lock if I try to press it in). From what I've read they're already junk to begin with... is it even worth replacing? Is there an aftermarket cup holder I can use instead that works well? And is there some sort of pocket I could put there instead?

You can probably fix the cup holder if you take it out. Its not in a good spot anyway but I use it a lot.
Not much bolt-on for the 1.6L. Get a K&N drop in filter or CAI. Just get enough pipe and coupling with a filter and make one. Intake for GT/GTS should fit.
There are stock spoilers on eBay.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try pulling out the stereo and seeing if I can get it to go in and lock just to stay out of the way.
I'll also get a K&N to help with the airflow.
As far as the stock spoilers go, all ST's, GT's and GTS' have the same trunk for the years 90-93 right? So if I find a white spoiler for a 90 off a GTS I can buy that and it will fit perfectly on my 92 ST?

You didn't mention wether your cars a stick or not, if it is don't bother wasting your time and money fixing it. They are just about the only feature that is poorly desinged on the car. If you put cups in them you cant shift into first, third or fifth. I would yank the whole thing out, cut off the end plate an epoxy it over the opening.
