91 celica - lurching

In lower gears, the car lurches. A mechanic says it might be due to a vacuum hose leak. But I doubt that that's the problem. does anyone have any suggestions?

Happens to the 92 ST I just purchased as well. Only bad in 1st gear, noticeable but not as bad in 2nd, and not noticable in 3-5. Not sure if it's regular as well.

When I say lurching I'm referring to driving say 8mph in first gear with my foot steady on the gas pedal. The car will lurch... kind like in a regular car if you keep taping on and off the gas pedal.

Nah... I'm the 2nd poster just agreeing with the first guy who took his to a mechanic. I haven't touched anything yet but I plan on doing some maintenance like running fuel system cleaner, changing fuel filter, air filter, and the spark plugs and wires (since I just bought it and I don't know when it was done last).

What did you find as the problem after removing the TB?
