Broken Temp Gauge

I just went and replaced my radiator which was terribly clogged, changed a hose, which split before this, and changed the thermostat before either one of these. I also replaced the radiator cap after the radiator. I noticed that, with my vents open, I had heat pouring in up until I changed my radiator, and my temp gauge was saying that it was running hot. After changing my radiator, I now get cold air and I can open the hood and put my hand in and notice there is much less heat. Clearly the radiator was my problem.

So the issue is that the gauge is still showing in the red. I highly doubt that it's reading right now since there is so little heat now to say it's up that high. In light of this, does anyone else have another opinion or if not, can someone tell me what and how to fix the misreading?

i'm thinking sensor is K.O'ed by the previous heat, and you need a new sensor, makes more sense to me than the gauge being bad. I dunno to find it tho. good luck.

The sensors are usually around where the thermostat is. You may have disconnected it, or it may be bad. Either way look around where the thermostat is.
