how hard are they to install/how do they affect the system, or are they just cosmetic? I could be interested, but would like to know about the above first.

Basically replacing the rubber flex lines. They reduce brake fade majorly, I don't consider them cosmetic because they cant really be seen. Im buying them because my lines are being replaced as they are 14 years old and are unsafe. $90 CDN is much cheaper vs. $70 per line rubber ($280CDN).

THey do have a performance side with the reduction of brake fade, and I suppose they can be cosmetic if you're into that sort of thing.

Some pads only fade once or twice and then settle down (Green fade or bedding in fade). Other, cheaper pads suffer from continual dynamic fade, sometimes at surprisingly low temperatures.
SS brake line don't reduce brake fade. Brake fade is caused by pad overheating. No brake line will fix that. If you overheat the pad then overheat brake fluid so it boils, no brake line will help you either. Upgrade to better pad.
SS brake line reduce the spongee feel on brake padel by reducing hose expansion under pressure.

Its good price. Just made sure it come with plastic tube outside the steel wire. Flex line fail due to sand and dirt trap between thw wire and hose and slowly grind through the hose when the line moves. Get some clear PVC tube and use hose clamp to seal both ends out the flex line so nothing can get in.
