Hello all! I just got my liscence.. ( We all know how much adults hate that.. so please don't be biased haha >.< ) .. I have been racing since 13.. With my brother.. And my parents just decided to buy me a car!
I have always been in love with Celicas, ever since I saw a wide-body orange /black one! Anyway... Their price range was like 15k maybe 20k.. That puts me to a new 2005 Celica GT..
However, I could always go for a Used Celica GTS... So my question is, is the GTS a lot faster then the GT? And honestly.. Since Ive given up the street racing seen, will it make a whole lot of difference just racing on and off in the streets when a mustang pulls up next to me? Max speed isnt too important since I dont plan on getting myself killed hahah.
After the speed, does the exterior look any different? That is what my biggest problem is. SO, with all that said, could anyone help me out?
for the money, I'd honestly go with an all trac or an MR2, and build it. that way you get super reliable, something not many other people have, and mad power, and doesn't look it's age.
Yes, GT-S is substantially faster than the GT. About 1 sec faster on the 0-60 and quarter mile. That translates to about 8-9 car's length. Although, I must tell you that Celica GT-S requires A LOT of driving technique to handle all the power in lift (6000 - 7900 rpm), but practice makes a man perfect. Once you get used to handling lift. There is nothing like it.

Get an 04 gt-s. My third toyota, compared to 92 stx and 87 nonturbo supra, I love the way this car handles and accelerates. There seems to be minor differences in the 04 to 05 body, specifically they offer color matched altezza lights on the 05. But I got mine with some body mods already and iced lights, so it doesnt look stock. If you plan to modify it, why not save a little on an 04, and make it look how you like for the difference.
I'm in Australia Petrol is $1.05 a litre right now, so thats ok. I agree, british babes are very cool, not enough of them around atm, someone needs to import some hehe
