Engine Hesitation Problem 2000 Gts

The hesitation is very sparatic, it happens sometimes usually on cold starts but sometimes whenever it wants. I got a check engine light but it was for a 'emmissions purge flow malfunction' (p0440 or something).

its like this: when i hit the throttle (in a normal manner)- the engine would 'bog' and the car would move really slowly (too much gas in the engine - is what the mechanic's computer read), when that happens i let off the throttle and have to sweet talk the thing into acting like a normal car. it could take up to 1-2 min for it to 'warm up' and the problem would be insignificant (but still there) afterward. its like the split seccond sound you hear when you open the throttle real fast.... except split minute in my case!

I changed the plugs, my air filter is clean, changed the fuel filter+pump, fuel injector cleaner, reset my ecu, throttle body cleaner, a mechanic said my throttle position sensor could be bad- changed that, and changed a bunch of other parts related to emissions (tho i think thats a different issue)...
If anyone can enlighten me on the inner working of how my intake (i have a stock intake) and egr system works pease help... im shot for ideas and the dealer was pretty much helpless. im so pathedic right now please help thanks.

what i would do is go to a master mechanic. One who has all his major ASE certifications. Many times, they have like a snap-on scanner or a genesis scanner like I have. When they hook that to your diagnostic port it will tell them everything they need to know, including every voltage and every resistance factor in all those sensors. Not some mickey mouse scanner, im talking the ones the pros use. Make sure they have that, and if they do let them do the diagnostic. I will be confident that they would find the problem. If you need any other help contact me... Braddog0128@yahoo.com Good luck!

You keep replacing things without first figuring out what the problem is. You have the MIL on, fix that first. And yes, a P0440 can cause driveability problems. Not saying that's the only problem, just saying you should start there.
