230k Seafoam OK?/

I have a 86 Celica gt with the 2S-E motor with 230k on the clock. I dont know the history of the motor before 200k but it does burn and or leak oil. I use chevron 20-50 with a mobil 1 filter. It has Boch 4 platinum plugs. Now on to my question. is this motor safe to use Seafoam on?/ I am going to run it through my intake manifold only (not the oil). I am concerned of loosing compression. The car runs fine and I get good gas milage 25-28 mpg. Do the advantages of using seafoam outweight the potential problems it can cause?/ Anyway it can ruin my motor?/Will my car beniefit from using this product?/ Is it safe to do on a motor with this many miles?/ Ive searched the forum and have not found anyone using seafoam on a motor with this many miles. Thanks in advance
Mike

it shouldnt hurt the motor

on the 240sx forums i used to go to they used ti on motors with up to 300k without problems

it has quit a few benefits for the car, and the only problems that i think it could create would be leaks created by the seaform eating away at build ups of carbon and such that formed plugs in cracks/holes, but if you think about it that might be a good thing becuase it shows you things that need to be replaced

just make sure that you put it into the right places

I have been using Lucas fuel treatment with good results, im just kind of sceptical about duing such a concentrated cleaning. Would it be a good idea to put it in through the PCV hose?/ any other places I can pour it it throught?/

Well I did it last night and FUGG there was A LOT OF SMOKE. Treated it twice and it seems like I have a smoother idle now. Also pulled the plugs afterwards and I could see inside!! It looks really clean. Iwould recomend it to others.

I've used Seafoam on my truck (91 Bronco 5.0L 160K mi.) several times. Never had a problem with it, always ran better after.

I put 1/2 can in the crankcase, 2/3 in through the brake booster vacuume line and the leftovers + 1 can into a full tank of gas (33 gal tank).

Fun watching the neighbors when you start it up after and the smoke begins
