Now I've never heard of the Celica GT-R until GT4 came out and I actually took the time to look through all the cars it had to offer. When I found the GT-R actually existed I began wondering if it ever came to the USDM in one form or another. The big difference from what I can see is basicly a better suspension and Four-Wheel Steering (4WS). So was 4WS an option on the Celicas here or was the idea just totally dropped and if not how reliable was it? And would a USDM Celica GT-S be capable of a 4WS conversion? Assuming they didn't completely change the rear end for the USDM of course.
Edit: Just found out the GT-R is also turbo charged, but still FWD. Figure it must be a small, probly non-intercooled turbo because it only puts out 165ps compared to the 220ps the GT-Four puts out.
Oh I know its feasable, but the thing is reliabilty and how hard it would be to install. Some people say 4WS is great while others say its a pain especially when it gets old. I figured if you can maintain it, it won't leak and mess up on ya. Also, what would be needed for it besides the obvious? Is there a special computer and harness needed or would all I need is to run a steering fluid line back to the rear powersteering box?

The GTR (ST183) is NOT turbocharged. It has 3sge. (not 3sgte)

I'm 100% sure that 4ws Celica (GTR) has never been released to US market.
GT-R was never sold outside of the Asian marked, not even in Europe, The ones you can find in Europe, more specifically the U.K., are all imports.I have a bunch of mates who happen to own GT-R and they have one hell of a time finding car specific parts (usually the rear wheel steering motors)
