Got some questions on a 4th gen

hey im pretty new on this and havent posted alot but im lookin for some kinda power from my 89 celica gt-s it has a good amount of power but it gets boring ya know, its got 167k on the original engine and 5 speed trans, would it be worth it or no? and also ive been thinkin of guttin the cat would that be a or a cause i heard it'll add like 5-10 horsepower and with that damn M.A.F sensor i cant get a intake and with the 2-1 headers its kind of a bitch to find headers but if anyone has some input please put it on here thanks alot
