Hey guys,
Not sure if anyone here can help me out...but having some problems starting my 94' Celica recently every once in awhile....maybe one in every 10 times? The other times it starts up no problem at all.
Had somewhat similar problems about 6 months ago, and had a new starter put in which solved the problem. This one is a little different. Last time I would get a "dead spot" where I turn the key and nothing. A few attempts and I'd finally get it to start turning over but no turn over. Then after a few more attempts it would start fine. So I took it to the dealer and they were not able to recreate the problem because it was so intermittent. Then took it in to another dealer a couple weeks later where it actually happened right in the queue for service...so they were able to diagnose it and installed a new starter. That fixed the problem...and haven't had any problem in probably the last 6 months?
Then about a week ago....tried to start it and it sounded like it was going to turn over, but it just wouldn't. After about a minute of trying finally got it. Then same thing happened yesterday. Once it starts though it runs like a champ...nothing sounds funny. Runs normal, idles normal. So it's just starting the car that seems to be a problem...and it's just every once in awhile. But I'm afraid one of these times that persistence won't get the car to start
Any ideas or quick and inexpensive fixes to find?
Thanks!!!
