are u intending to change the diameter of the exhaust only, or the whole piping?

I hope u are not intending to do the changes like those moronic civic drivers who just increase the size of the muffler and make it into a fart can...

from what i've read, a 3" swap, from the downpipe and straight through will be good enuff...

seniors, please correct me if i'm wrong

i hate those guys!!!

no no. i plan to put the gen3 3sge in my camry. i just want to know what exhaust size (as in a full sports exhaust system) would be apppropriate? currently i have a 2" cat back exhaust and i was hoping i could stick with that (in order to keep costs to minimum). but im assuming that 2" would be too restrictive for that motor?

2 inch is fine, whatever size the pipe is at the flange of the exhaust manifold is the size your piping/cats/resonators/flex pipes and muffler(1/4 either way is ok for muff) should be. If you have 2 inch pipe at the flange then run 3 inch pipe back, the exhaust expands, but then, if your muffler is snaller, say 2 1/4, the exhaust has to compress it to move that volume through, you just want is as free flowing as possible.

But I mean, if you run 3 inch from the flange back, everything included, no reason for harm there, that'll breathe wondefully
