want more power

i have a 92 celica st and am looking for a way to swap out the 4afe 1.6L engine to to one of the turbo enginesfrom either a gt or an all trac is this possible without changing the trans it has a five speed manual trans also is there a way to reprogram the computer to alter the rev limiter in 5th gear and stop the speed sensor from shutting down the engine im new to this so any help would be apreciated thanks

im in the same situation you are. my 1.6 has almost 290 000 miles on it and i want more power. however if you want the 2.0 turbo motor. you are going to have to get the S53 (transmission from the 5s-fe motor(2.2)) and find a wiring harness+ecu for that turbo motor you will also need new engine mounts and possibly transmission mounts also. not to mention all the sensers and crap on the motor. your trans from your 1.6 only bolts up with the 4afe and the 4agze because they are "A" series engines. as far as your revlimiter problem... i would do some research on chips , call a manufacture and ask them about it.
