ok im thinking that i may keep my 4a-fe motor. i was looking online and i came across a site that sells a turbo kit for the 4a-fe. ( http://www.turbo-kits.com/corolla_turbo_kits.html ) a little spendy tho $2,800. I know the 4a-gze motor was supercharged. should i swap to that head? is that head injected? is there an easier/more cost effective way to reach my goal?
Honestly... I think you should just swap in the 4AGZE and remove the supercharger, sell the blower, and use the money you made twoards the turbo. This way you have a stronger engine that can take boost better the the 4AF. It'll probly run you about the same if not less to go this route.
The 4agze is EFI. And yes you'd have to get the ECU & harness, but its all pretty much bolt on. Trust me though, its worth it to have an engine that was built for boost wich is the exact opposite of how the 4AF is built. Also look at it this way, the turbo kit you pointed out is setup for 6 psi boost. Not bad but not all that great either seeing how thats dropped to about 4 psi after it passes through the intercooler. You'll be tempted to up the boost wich will wreck the 4AF unless you build it up with tougher internals and equip it with a better head wich the 4AGZ already has. IMO, the 4AGZ swap will be better in the long run.
anything from the JDM AE92 or AE101. Those are the better ones to my knowalge though if you can find a MR2 SC edition in a junkyard that'll do too though that model is a bit older.
the AE92 and AE101's are the body codes for the Sprinter Trueno and Corolla Levin (in your case your looking for the Trueno GT-Z or Levin GT-Z). More precisely years 88 - 99(I think it was 99).

Are you crazy??? why would he take off the supercharger??? keep the supercharger and twin-charge the bitch.. a twin charge setup would retain the supercharger and add a turbocharger.. twin-charged. the 4AGZE is one of the best motors for this setup, and I think a few people have already done it.
thats crazy!!!! ive never thought of doing both. that would be one really sick motor. but that can be decided later. for now.... WHERE AM I GOING TO START LOOKING FOR THIS MOTOR?????? I can do all the work my self but i have no idea where to get the parts!!!!! HELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Google is your friend and eBay is your B!tch. Use them wisely young padawan.
Though twincharging is awsome you'll have to rebuild your tranny as well because that setup will push well over 300 ponies. An LSD will also be a wise investment since it'll apply that power to the pavement better as well. Be prepared for a BIG project.
