UK 1990 celica wont start

Was out in my celica this afternoon, came home and everything was fine. Come to use the car 2 hours later and the car wont start. The battery on the car is weak so could this be the case or could it be the starter motor?

answers appeciated

90 to 93 Celica's are prone to timing belts slipping.I'd check your battery then your timing belt.Mine slipped when i turned it off in the driveway. It took me 3 days to figure it out.My idle pully froze solid with age and the belt slipped enough notches to screw up the timing.

I have an 88 celica and the engine started making a horrible wrapping noise and i was wondering if it was possible it might be the timing on it?
thanks,
Matt

Does it sound almost like a seatbelt cought outside your door while doing 40+ mph? If so it sounds like your belt is slipping. Probly the idle pully got loose or froze.

as i suspected it was the battery! BUT i have a feeling I will need to replace my starter motor! more money!!!!!!!

Its a real shame they do not do Lexus lights for 1990-93 celica as i think they would sell incredibly well
