5sfe with 3sgte turbo...

ok, I know the two can go together right? correct me if i'm wrong because I'm not that good with celicas. If a 5SFE engine with the turbo kit off a 3SGTE, how much horse power gain will it get? If one was to do this, would the internals of the 5sfe have to be changed out?

the internals will be fine if ou keep the boost low, 7 to 9 psi, you can run 10 but i wouldnt run 10 for long, you will need

turbo (ct-26 from an mr2 or alltrac celica (also called a twin entry ct-26) a ct-26 from a supra will work but you will need a different flange)
manifold
2 bar map sensor
injectors (i recommend 7mge greentop injectors, NOT 7mGTE injectors)
if you plan on more than 5-7 psi you will need an intercooler
youll need various other things like piping and you will need to run oil and coolant lines to the turbo

if you buy a used turbo have it looked at by a machine shop, if its got a lot of miles on it REBUILD it no questions asked, you dont want an oil burning nightmare, if there is shaft play it will need specialty machine work

ebay is your best bet, thats where i bought my ct-26, and im looking at some 7mge injectors right now, youll also need fuel management and a larger pump, make sure you get a twin entry ct-26 unless you are good at fabrication

What manifolds will fit the 5sfe? I've looked at all the celica manifolds and they all seem to look like they would fit. Has anyone ever turbo charged the 5sfe? I myself have turbocharged lots of Hondas. I'm trying to do my Honda stuff to my Toyota. One thing I notice from celicas motors is that they use lots of 4 to 1 manifolds. This is perfect. I can use this manifold and chop it and weld a flange to it and bolt a turbo up to it. This is what I do with Civics and Integras.
