Unhappy Brakes Challenge 1989 Celica

I have a 1989 celica st. When i travel down the road the brakes lock up after maybe 6 or 7 miles. I went and had new brake lines and new brakes put on and they still do it. The brake pedal get very stiff and will not go down at all. When the brakes get stiff the car locks up completely. I thought power brake booster or master cylinder but would that not cause the opposite effect. Remember this did this with old and new brakes and they have to travel for a while to lock up. also, it does not matter if you are using them or not. please help! You may email me directyly at BAMASPIC@XTN.NET

i just did the front brakes on my 89 GT last weekend.

CHeck the caliper pins ... do they move freely? I had to lube all 4 of em. One side was pretty bad ... caused the pad to grind into the rotor. I had to use penetrating oil then bang the caliper pin loose. I then removed em, cleand em, and coated them with synthetic caliper lube.

also, make sure the piston is okay... you might have a frozen caliper.
