85 Celica GTS Coupe

I found one for free, and the guy even offered to pay for my Camaro Sounds like a great deal to me. Getting rid of one mistake, getting a childhood fav. car for free and some extra cash twards the 05 Yamaha R6 So whats the aftermarket like for this car? I want to use it for Auto-x and drifting. Is this a easy car to work on *back yard mechanic style* Any major problems with this car, like the notorious 7m-gte blown heads or anything of that sort to look for? Thanks in advance.

I had an '85 GTS that I got rid of in '96. I loved that car, IRS rear 4wheel discs. The last year of RWD for the Celica. Super easy to work on. I did a clutch, new head and cam on it. Mine was a 5 speed with the 22RE. I got rid of it with 175,000 mile on it in mint condition (for a 175,000 mile car) and I like to think somebody is still driving it past 300,000 miles!!
