Question rear wheel bearing 2000 gt-s

Is this a job I should tackle on my own or let a professional replace?

Any idea how much the wheel bearing costs?

If I replace one, should I also replace the other side?

Thanks in advance for your trusted opinions...

get an new one.. bearings are a wearing part and if you use the old one or a used one then it will have more of a chance of breaking on you... plus berings are really not that expensice for axles..

Wheel bearings hardly ever need replacing.
I replaced a bearing in my car's front on my 1992 celica with 250,000 miles on it.
Bearing -$30
To get pep boys to press out the old and press in the new - $40
Time for me to take off hub for them to replace 3 hours.

I took off everything to get just the entire hub to take down to pep boys. I have a 12 ton press but I couldn't get the bearing out of the hub. I'd leave it for professionals.
I tried to press it out myself. Pain in the ass.

How do you tell when you need a bearing?

The rear wheel bearing is a pretty straightforward job, it doesn't require a press as it only comes in a unit with the hub and bearing as an assembly. Remove the wheel and brake rotor, then take out the four bolts on the back side of the hub. Remove hub & bearing, install new one.
