Door latch problem

My 90's passenger side door won't open. The problem seems to be in the latch assembly itself, the rods connecting the inside and outside handles are both moving ok, but the latch won't release.

Any ideas on getting the door open so I can get to this and fix it?

Just can't see my 12 y.o. daughter climbing in and out the window!

90 latch problem

Hello. new member and this is one of the first posts I read. I have a 90 ST with the exact problem. Got the door open on a hot day last summer but when I closed it, it never opened again. In addition my lock button on the door pad will no longer move. Hope someone posts a resolution soon. Tried spraying everything with WD-40. No luck. Tried a slim jim. No luck either.

OK, Now I'm desperate.
My Bronco burst a brakeline Sunday evening. No biggie, go get Dad's truck (family spare vehicle) 24 hours later, dad's truck bursts a brakeline....what are the chances????

Anyway. going to get a 15 day plate on the Celica, then register it..gives me 25 days to fix all the stuff I wanted to, but could sure use some door advice if anyone has any ideas!
