it will fit fine, but not without custom engine mounts, and rewired electrics.
not to mention its a horrible engine choice for that car. 2500lb celica with a 1.6l engine... the 4AGE makes all its power up high, and it has no tq, which you would need a lot of to get that big ass celica moving.

What... the...
Don't be spreading around misinformation like that.
First of all, the 4AGE doesn't need custom mounts. It does need to be rewired. And the ST is already running a 1.6 except it makes less power that the 4AGE. A 4AGE will be much more fun in that car.
BTW I can do that swap for you for $500.
Heck, for that matter I have a '90 Celica ST right at my shop that I can sell you to drop the 4AGE in.
if u hav a 4afe and u want to put in a 4age,,,,it a perfect match...no need to worry bout the engine mount..it a drop in..lik the other guy say...all u got to worry bout is the wirein part..which is hard....i know a guy who would do it for 5 hun....he liv in vermont tho..he is doin my 4age swap for me and only charge me 5 hun for it...he is also doin other swap for my friend lik 3sgte in a 1997 celica st...auto to manual swap..... im doin my swap in sept..all i need is the engine complete swap and giv him 5 hun. and im good to go...goin for the silvertop...soo nice and clean...soo pretty
bout to say...come on Dr. Tweak, you seem to know what you are doing, got to get your generational knowledge up to speck.
i still dont think a 4AGE into a celica would be a good swap, all the HP and TQ are high on the curve, it would take forever to get that 2,500lb car rolling, dont think it'd be much better than the FE, and certianly not better than the 5SFE in the GT-S

I may be wrong, but the math doesnt add up for me. 112hp at 6600rpm and 100lb/ft tq at 4800rpm in a 2500lb celica.
you didnt say what year celica you had but heres the specs on the stock motors for the 86-89 celica and the 5th gen celicas
Gen4 - 115hp @5200rpm 124tq @4400rpm with the 2.0l 3SFE the base model engine has better hp and tq.
Gen4 - 135hp @6000rpm 125tq @4800rpm - with the 2.0l 3SGE, the GTS motor
Notice how all those engines are better than the 4AGE? I think you mentioned wanting a 20V engine, but still, 165hp @ 7800RPM thats stupid, and still only 125tq. Not to mention everytime you needed to replace a part on it, you'd have to special order it from japan, since no 20V 4age's ever came to the states.
A MUCH better swap for the 4th gen celica would be a later gen 3SGE. those can be had in the 200hp range, and are cheaper to get and easier to get parts for, since most of the parts are compatible with older 3SGES. not to mention the 3SGE will drop into a 4th gen celica without any problems, mounts are the same, all you need is a wiring harness and a computer and you are set to go.
Same goes for the gen5 celica. If you are needing custom mounts, wiring and possibly axels, they might as well be for an engine that is worth it.
Even a JDM spec 3SFE would be a better choice, 140hp and 135tq.
