Canada odometer not working

This is my first post. Hello everyone.

I actually had an engine swap recently. Nothing exciting. It's a JDM 2.2. I'm not sure of the engine code though. It's a 6th gen model. 94 to be exact. The engine is in great condition.

Anyways, my odometer, trip-ometer and speedometer are not working after the swap. My speedometer was acting up before the swap. Sometimes it would just drop down to zero, but my odometer and tripometer was still working. Any chance the sensors just gave up. How do i check this and where exactly is the sensor? Is it expensive to replace? I'm hoping that its just lose or dirty.

Hope someone out there can help me... -thanks

there's a possibility that the speedometer cable snapped..it doesn't cost much for the parts but the labour will probably kill..it's very hard to reach the cable it's right on the firewall connected to the tranny...

Mine just snapped to0. I noticed that when I unscrewed the lower from the upper, the inside cable on the lower half came right out. Let me ask you this. Is your car still running properly? Any power loss? My 89 ST has given computer codes that indicate there is no vehicle speed signals, and I think because of this, my timing is now all messed up and I am losing power in this hot Florida sun.

I had that exact same problem...except my RPM gauge still worked. I was informed by someone that it has to be a manufacturer part, and that the cable would cost be like 140$. Im not sure the validity of this quote, but check it out.

btw, your gas/temp gauges work fine though, right?
