...cam shaft question...

i have a 90 gts... i believe i have 5sfe motor.... i've told that the motor has been messed around w/... and it might not be the motor i believe i have.... the engine in my car right now could possibly be from an 89 camry...

my brother and i are working on it.... we've opened the block... we've taken out the camshaft closest to the front... we've taken off the motor mount for more room, and a lot of stuff around it... there's the other cam shaft that we can't seem to take out... also there are some nuts/bolts in the block that doesn't seem to unscrew... does anyone know what size they are or how i could possibly take my block to get a hold of the head gasket...???

i hope someone can help... if you'd like more details on it... ill be glad to infrom you all i can.... thanks...

ok... i've removed the timing belt... taken off the head block cover...(before all that, i removed all sparkplugs, loosen up all circuts, nuts and bolts)... i've taken the mount off to get more room and to get more access to the cam's... i've taken off one, but the other one is stuck... there's these bolts inside the block that doesn't fit any tool's i have.... i pretty much have a lot of sockets and bolts that could screw anything off except for these screws inside the head...

does anyone know if there's a certain type of ranch or socket i have to use for these inner tube in the block... how much is a head gasket, does anyone know?

thanks...

They're 12 point socket for head bolt. Cams are just regular socket. Use pipe wrench with a cloth on the tube to remove them. Make sure you put silicone on the thread to seal oil from going down to spark plug.

Are you sure you should be working on this engine to begin with?
