Question Question about head repair for a 4afe

Removed the head of my 92 celica that was sending out white smoke signals, hoped ot was a head gasket issue, unfortunately the head has a little erosion between the water port and the edge of one of the cylinders. This is allowing anti-freeze to pass under the gasket into the cyl. My question is, can the head be welded enough to allow a resurfacing. Has anyone don this??
Thanks
bart

Can you seal it with silicone? Maybe cheaper to get another head/engine. There should be tons of 4A-FE in junkyard.
