95 celica st, wanting more power

Hey, i just got my celica a few months ago after some drunk T-boned my last car =/.

Well since i've had the car i absolutely love it, but imo the 7A-FE engine doesn't really have the power that i'd like. What i'm wondering is what you all out there think are the best things i can get/do to the engine to increase the horsepower/torque, i've been considering alot of parts, but i thought comming to this forum i'd get the best answers. 've been looking around at the 5S-FE and the 3S-GTE engines and possibly thinking about purchasing one from a junkyard and swapping it, but i'm not even sure if i can for my modle, heh. With those i'm pretty sure that i'd have to get a new transmission to handle the extra power. Well i'm just trying to see what you all think and hopefully i'll be able to give my lil st a lil more power =), heh.

Well, thanks alot for any of the help you can give me.

The 3SGTE swap is the best option for you. I have a '94 coming into my shop next week for this very swap. It's going to run him around $5000 total.

Head over to 6gc.net for some good support on this swap.

what are you talking about? $5000 is an awesome price if that includes the intial cost of the engine. Even if it doesnt, $5grand is still really cheap for a swap that involved.

3SGTEs run about a grand+ ecu/wiring thats maybe another 500. Unless I'm missing something there.

EDIT: my bust. More involved than I thought. Didn't click that this is going into a 95. But 5K still seems high.

He got a ST, need tranny and reweld engine mounts. May need axle and hub assenbly also. Easier swap is a 4A-GZE or turbo the 7A-FE.

yea 5k seems steep for the 3sgte u can get one for about 1500-2000 with all the equipment u need that leaves 3000 just for installation.
